Today our first Decodable book, Sam and Pam, is going home.  This book includes the high frequency words 'I,' 'am,' and 'see,' and words that the children are able to 'decode' by tapping out the sounds within those words.  It includes the "glued sound" /am/.  Please give your child every opportunity to read this book with you and to lots of family members as well.  Enjoy!  Your children are on their way to becoming fluent readers!

Don't Forget!
Please send in a recipe!
For the next few weeks in math and science, we will be learning about measurement and procedure.  To help us understand these ideas, please send in a recipe for one of your child's favorite foods.  Ideally, this should be something that your child has made with you and with which your child is familiar. Your child will be describing the ingredients and procedure.  Perhaps the Thanksgiving holiday weekend would be an opportunity to try one out!  Traditional family favorites are a good choice.  We will not be making all of these recipes in class, so please do not send in ingredients.  I would like all the recipes by December 1st, if possible.   Thank you for your cooperation!
