We passed the 100th day mark on Wed., Feb . 10th!
Throughout the building there was celebration on the 100th day!  The kindergarten room was fully decorated with 100 object displays created by students.  In 1st grade there was a pancake breakfast and a party of student donated food (100 of each of course!).  Students in other classes came by to visit the kindergarten room in the afternoon, a bit of going down memory lane for our SRES students who also attended kindergarten here.
Thank you to all of the many parents, community members and staff who helped make our 6 week winter sports program such a great success this year.  Despite the thin amount of snow, all groups went out each week, and the grow both in skills and confidence on the part of students was evident.
The Rockingham School Board has adopted a school budget for the 2010-11 school year.  This proposed budget will be available for public comment/feedback the evening of March 1st, with Town Meeting Day for the final voting to occur on March 2nd.  The proposed locally funded portion of the budget is down approximately 1% from last year's budget, including all salary and health benefit increases.  We worked hard as an administrative team to respond to the challenging economic times, and cut wherever possible, yet still provide the best education for our students.

Upcoming Events:

Informational meeting on the Rockingham town and school budgets:  March 1, 7 PM, Town Hall
Town Meeting day:  March 2nd, schools closed
Roller skating:  March 5th, 3-4:30, SRES gym
PTO meeting:  April 14th, 7-8:30 PM, SRES librarya
SRES all school spring concert:  April 15th, 6:30 PM, Bellows Falls Union High School

Best,

David Lesser, principal
